God is LOVE

God is Love

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.  1st John 4:12

If we want lasting change, we must fill our lives with love. Why? Because love can change the unchangeable. Love is the most powerful force in the universe, because “God is love” (1st John 4:8)

John doesn’t say God has love; he says God is love. Love is the essence of what God is. God is Father, Son, and Spirit in an eternal relationship of love.

Love invigorates. Love revitalizes. Love renews. Love refreshes. Love heals. Love strengthens. Love gives you energy when you don’t have energy. Love empowers you when you don’t have the power.  We need God’s kind of love if we are going to fulfill the purposes for which we were made.

So as you seek lasting change today, invite God’s love to touch those areas of your life that need healing in a deeper way.  Then look for opportunities to give that love away to others.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: God’s love can change the unchangeable so that we are able to love others with the love we’ve received. What a privilege!

The Daniel Plan 365 Day Devotional

Rachel's thoughts:

Read the lines again.....    Love invigorates. Love revitalizes. Love renews. Love refreshes. Love heals. Love strengthens. Love gives you energy when you don’t have energy. Love empowers you when you don’t have the power.  We need God’s kind of love if we are going to fulfill the purposes for which we were made.

Sometimes the best place to start on those days when we "just aren't feeling it"  is to simply ask God to allow you to feel HIS love in such a way that it brings with it the desire to love yourself as much as He does....to allow love to be the spark that ignites the desire to take all the small steps necessary in self care that all add up to taking great care of this body we all walk around in.   It is not the love of romance that we think of associated with Valentines day coming soon and celebrated around the world, or the love we show others when we acknowledge the holiday with our children or good friends through small gifts.  It is rather a gift of love that we internalize and apply towards our own hearts....a love that is equal to self respect.  Let our actions honor the gift God gave each of us in this body that houses His spirit.    Let's think about love in the way suggested in this devotional.

Let's allow love to invigorate, revitalize, renew, refresh, heal, strengthen, give us energy for the day, empower our efforts.   Let's love Him back through our actions in how we take care of our body.  Then....let's all get together next week and support and encourage each other as an extension of this love we experience every day we choose to accept it.  It's good to give love away!   Stay warm and safe my friends.

Looking forward to seeing you at one of our four FAITH5 meetings next week.
