Make the most of every opportunity. The days are evil.     Ephesians 5:16 NIrV

To make the most of every opportunity, it’s good to make a plan. A plan clarifies what’s important in your life. When you have a plan with goals, you then calculate how much time it’s going to take to reach those goals – how much time weekly for how many weeks. But until it gets on your calendar, it’s just a dream. You will find it much clearer in your mind and much more likely to happen if you write it all down.

One more step that will make an enormous difference in whether you follow through with your plan is telling somebody about your goal. Did you know that when you share your goal with somebody else, and commit to reporting back to that person, you have a 95% chance of achieving it?

What is your goal? What time on what days of the week are you going to give to it?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Take advantage of the opportunities before you.

Rachel’s thoughts:  I get a lot of interesting feedback from our FAITH5 groups. This topic is an important one.   Setting goals and then putting in place small consistent actions that will bring you to achieving those goals.  Initially when we began FAITH5 we were all just feeling our way as to what we needed from gathering weekly.  Many did not have clear goals and I did not put pressure on anyone.  I still don’t want to pressure anyone who isn’t ready, but we are now 3 months into this year. Are we giving ourselves a little too much “grace” in not setting specific goals that in reality by not doing so we are also not making progress.  I say this because I’ve done this to myself.   Covid19 has impacted us negatively in so many ways….let’s not allow it to rob us of our good health efforts.

The first day of SPRING is this Saturday March 20th…..YAY!!  Maybe it’s time to take advantage of the opportunity to declare a fresh start and ramp up our efforts.  Want to lose weight? It’s going to take effort….daily consistent effort.  Want to improve your energy levels? That too will take effort…it doesn’t happen without choosing good fuel for our bodies or staying comfortable for hours on the sofa. Want to protect the progress you made? Yes, that takes effort as well….daily.

The past few weeks we have set small action goals to take out into the week with us to work on.  Let’s all “take every opportunity” to work on them and to work toward our goals….whatever they may be.   Join us on Tuesdays and Thursdays….we’d love to hear about your goals and support you in achieving them.
